What to Wear to a Bridal Shower
There really is no guide for what to wear to a bridal shower other than not to wear sweatpants. But since I recently attended one, I wanted to put together some tips and ideas on what to wear, while guest starring two of my very fashionable childhood friends! It’s interesting how even though we all went our separate ways, we have one big thing in common – a love for fashion. And I love that we all bring different things to the table considering Carolyn (in the shorts) spent a significant amount of time in Los Angeles and Eugenia (in the dress) lives in New York. Even though their outfits are completely different, both looks are perfect for the occasion!
Here are some tips to get you started on your outfit:
- Tip #1 – Be colorful! It’s a happy occasion so don’t dress in drab colors like blacks and greys. Neutrals are fine, but don’t make it too boring.
- Tip #2 – Dress for the location. An indoor shower is much different than an outdoor one, so dress accordingly.
- Tip #3 – When in doubt, wear a dress. It’s better to be a little overdressed than underdressed. A casual dress with some accessories always works.
- Tip #4 – If you can’t find a dress, try a skirt. A patterned skirt or colored shorts paired with a plain top and some necklaces might do the trick
- Tip #5 – Don’t out dress the bride! It’s the bride’s special day and she should be the center of attention, not you! Don’t overdo the outfit, hair, or makeup.
