A Visit to Loakal
I recently stumbled upon one of the coolest stores in the Bay Area. Imagine all the cute hand made things that you might see on etsy, plus a few geekier things you might come across at a con, add in an art gallery, a little bit of Star Wars, unique housewares, and a wall of graphic T-shirts and you have the Loakal store in Oakland, California. Not only is much of their stuff hand made, but knowing that you’re buying…

Space and Lace
Ever since I got this Star Wars Asteroid shirt from San Diego Comic Con this summer, I can’t stop wearing it. I love the simple black and white colors and unlike many geeky shirts, you can actually dress this one up. Because it’s actually a men’s shirt, I tend to tuck it in or layer it so that it doesn’t look as big. By pairing it with a lace skirt and a white blazer, I was hoping this outfit could really…

Gifts For Your Geek – 2012 edition

Ewok Village
If you’ve been following this blog for a while now, you may notice that there are certain looks that I generally stay away from. The boho (bohemian/hippie) look is one of them. But when it comes to fashion, you can really never say never because once in a while you will find an unexpected piece that will make you cross that line. Free People is known for their ultra boho pieces and their New Romantics clothing line will once in…

Stormtroopers and Mixed Prints
I’ve always been amazed at how stylists can mix and match prints so well, especially when you’re dealing with a lot of complex colors and patterns. Well, I am no pro so I decided to keep things pretty simple. My general rule here was to keep the prints simple and make sure all the colors complemented each other. I also decided to take my previously mentioned DIY Star Wars headband and use that as my latest accessory to today’s outfit. How’s…
