The Colored Jeans Dilemma
I was recently asked to do a post on “what to wear with colored jeans during the cold season”. I had to actually think about this one since I wear a lot of colored pants myself! But, I was definitely up for the challenge. So by request, here are three looks with colored skinny pants for the fall/winter!
Look #1
The first look is actually my last post where I paired my red corduroys with a funky sweater. When wearing colored pants with sweaters, I wanted to keep the color combo simple and complementary.
Look #2
For the second look, I went with a chambray shirt. I have been loving the chambray shirt because it is super versatile and great for layering and goes really well with most colored skinnies. For this look, I decided to pair it with a wool blazer, which works out perfectly for a brisk California day.
The Goods:
- Rust Colored Corduroy Skinny Pants (Forever 21, buy here and similar here)
- Chambray Shirt (Forever 21, buy here)
- Black Wool Blazer (JCrew, buy here)
- Jewelry: Rhinestone Pyramid Stud Bracelet (buy here), Black/Gold Bib Necklace (Forever 21, similar here), Octopus Cuff (Modcloth, buy here), Gold Watch (Vintage)
- Low Heel Pumps (Prada, buy here or similar here)
Look #3
Although colored pants can be bright, it doesn’t mean you have to keep the top too simple. For this last look, I paired my colored skinny pants with a grey/black leopard print cardigan. Even though the pattern can be wild, the colors are simple. You can really go with any pattern here, but I would recommend keeping the colors simple or two-toned. Blacks and whites are always a favorite for me.

Your site is terrific. Might I suggest you consider finishing your ensemble with a pashmina from Geekiana?
