Army of One
Army jackets never go out of style. Case in point, Lindsay on Freaks and Geeks, who wears her signature army jacket throughout most of this show set in 1980. In case you haven’t heard about this show, Freaks and Geeks was a show that ran in the late ’90s (even though it takes place in 1980) and it became a cult hit after it was canceled. The show sadly only aired for one season, but now that I’ve watched it, I can see that it was way ahead of it’s time. Although I never felt outcasted for being a nerd in high school, I know many people who did, and the show’s tagline just reassures the rest of us that it was ok to not be part of the “cool” crowd. Army jackets may not be as “rebellious” as they used to be, but at least you know they will always come back in style.
It’s 1980 and this is what high school was like for the rest of us.
