Comikaze 2014 (Part 1) – Geek Fashion Show
It’s been almost 4 days since I got back from Comikaze and I finally feel like I have enough energy to write a recap about the awesome time I had at the con. With all the prep work and personal stress I was going through the week before Comikze, I wasn’t surprised that by Friday night, I started feeling under the weather (luckily this was after the Geek Fashion Show). By Saturday morning, I definitely had a cold and have no idea how I managed to make it through the entire weekend in cosplay. I guess what motivated me in the end was how much hard work I put into my costume and I wasn’t going to let a stupid cold stop me from wearing it! With some good makeup and a smile, I somehow mustered enough energy to walk in the Geek Fashion show, do a panel, hang out with people, and pose for pictures. Whew!
It’s hard to know where to begin in order to describe how much creativity and innovation went into Friday night’s Geek Fashion Show. Seeing all the incredible designs and meeting the ladies (and man) behind those sewing machines was an experience I’ll never forget. It was an honor getting to walk for Victoria and Jinyo’s line – Gold Bubble Clothing and I was especially thrilled to get to wear something from their Last Unicorn line since you know how much I love the ’80s! I love the fit of their mini dress and was really impressed that it clung to my body even better than the BlackMilk Clothing version! Less riding up is always better!
Here’s the gorgeous dress I got to wear featuring art from The Last Unicorn (get it here)!
