The Skirt is Greener…
It’s easy to get caught up in comparing yourself to others and that’s definitely one thing I’ve always struggled with. Sometimes doing so is motivating, but at the same time, it can also be discouraging as it might just end up making you feel like you will never be as successful/rich/pretty/etc. as others. Because of this realization, I’m constantly trying to make sure I focus on doing what I like and what I’m passionate about, rather than doing things only because other people expect you to or because you think, “Maybe if I do this, I will be more popular!”. One thing I’ve tried to focus on this week is trying to be content with what I have, not just mentally, but physical items as well. First of all, decluttering is SO difficult for a collector like myself to do! But over the weekend, I had a major cleaning session and got rid of nearly 5 huge boxes in my garage. My mind and soul felt refreshed and I can definitely say I feel much more content. :)
Wearing this skirt reminded me of that saying, “The grass is always greener on the other side” and even though it may feel like that sometimes, I just want to encourage you (and me) to appreciate the things you have right now. At the same time, don’t worry about what other people think. Do things for yourself and focus on making yourself happy. And if other people enjoy it, that’s just an added bonus!
