Stronger Than Ever
We all know super hero movies can end up being hit or miss. And despite the great reviews that Wonder Woman was getting opening day, I was still hesitant to believe how good it could be. I knew I had to see it for myself. It not only met my expectations, but completely exceeded it. I think everyone walked out of the theater feeling like Gal Gadot was made to play Wonder Woman. She was the perfect combination of strength, intelligence, charm, and beauty. And given the state of the country these days, it’s the perfect time to have a movie like Wonder Woman to empower women and remind us of how strong we are.
I’ve talked about this a little bit in the past, but I’ve struggled a lot this past year to feel “normal” again. I know some people think I’m crazy to complain about my body, but when your old clothes don’t fit and you don’t feel back to normal, you just find yourself wishing you could have your old body back. I’ve worked 100 times harder at eating right (a lot less sweets and processed food) and working out (5-6 times a week) than I ever did pre-cancer and I’m constantly working to accept that this is my “new” normal. I have to admit, I’m pretty addicted to working out and feeling strong so that’s not necessarily a bad thing, right? And getting this new Wonder Woman x Gap collection couldn’t come at a better time. First of all, thank goodness it’s not red and blue. Secondly, it’s amazing how some activewear can give you the motivation you need to keep going and keep working hard. These pieces have really boosted my spirits and made me feel like all my hard work has been paying off. So thank you Wonder Woman for reminding me how strong I really am.
