The Ultimate Showdown – Emily vs. Cancer
This is the post I’ve been dreading to write, the one I have no idea how to even start. I mean, how do you go about telling people news about your health? “Hello, I have breast cancer.” At first I was telling people in person, one by one, but quickly realized that trying to hold it together was impossible. I wrote a mass email to some close friends, but that was equally difficult. Every reply back I received made me break…

Thank You, WonderCon!
While I’m still recovering from WonderCon (cough, cough *con flu*), I wanted to write some quick thoughts about how awesome of a time I had down in Anaheim this weekend. Cosplay has really changed my life and I’m sure some of you other cosplayers have felt it, but there are definitely times when you’re up late at night, touching up some part of a shoe that no one in their right mind would even notice and you’re thinking, “What the…

Following the Rules
I typically never make New Year’s Resolutions. It’s not that I don’t believe in them, but I definitely don’t want to make a resolution just for the sake of making one. So going back to goals,…

Thoughts & Review- Adventure Time: Escape From the Citadel
I only got into Adventure Time about 2 years ago, but once I discovered the show, I was hooked. The first 100 episodes flew by and a few months later, I was fully caught up. Since then, I’ve tried to make it my weekly ritual to watch the show every Monday and this season’s opener was an emotional one. If you haven’t caught up yet, you might want to stop here. SPOILER ALERT AHEAD!! Days after watching the Escape from…

Memoirs of Lord Dobi
You’ve probably noticed that I haven’t been blogging lately and there’s a good reason why. Over Labor Day weekend, my 12 year old dog, Dobi, suddenly became ill. He lost his appetite, didn’t want to get up, and became extremely lethargic all in one day. After a few visits to the vet and a specialist, he was diagnosed with hemangiosarcoma, one of the more evil forms of cancer, which in Dobi’s case meant ruptured tumors on the liver and spleen along…

Response to Joe Peacock’s Geek Out Article – Booth Babes Need Not Apply
If you’re a geek and happen to be a girl, then chances are you may have heard about Joe Peacock’s “Booth Babes Need Not Apply” article on CNN Geek Out. At first it made sense. I myself admit to stereotyping women all the time when I see a scantily clad pretty girl in cosplay at a convention. I find myself thinking, “I bet she’s just trying to get attention” and agree when I hear people say that Comic Con is like…
