Going Bold with Blue
I never thought I’d be wearing bright colored pants again. In fact, I think the last time I wore anything this bright was back in elementary school. But as soon as I started seeing colored pants show up again, I loved that they were skinny fit and figure flattering. Volcom makes a great pair in their “Matchstick Frochickie” style. They’re bold in color, not too casual, and as comfortable as an old pair of khakis.

Cruising Away
It’s amazing how clothes can make you feel a certain way. Take this Leifsdottir tank for example. The ornate pinks and oranges combined with the bright sky blue make me feel like I’m vacationing on a cruise with a tropical drink in one hand. And if I were really on vacation, I would definitely wear these with some white shorts and gold sandals. For now, we’ll just have to stick with white skinny jeans and my imagination.

High Low Florals
You know spring is here when you start seeing florals reminiscent of Little House on the Prairie. I’ve been loving the fun and flowy feel of the “hi lo” skirts and dresses and decided to go a bit 80s and pair this one with a light denim jacket.

I’m an adult, really!
I’ve been seeing a lot of lace shorts lately and love these colorful ones from Volcom. I love the way shorts look with blazers so I paired these with a simple black one from JCrew to balance out the boldness of the shorts. And as I was looking through my watch collection, I saw my Hello Kitty My Melody watch that I got from a McDonald’s happy meal last year! Fine, I’m a little old to be wearing a giant…

Vintage Lace
I’ve been seeing lace everywhere since last fall and here’s one of my favorite lace pieces. I initially saw this top on Piperlime because of Olivia Palermo’s “style picks”. I only know Olivia Palermo from The City (spin off of The Hills) and although she comes off incredibly snobby and sort of bitchy, you can’t deny that she’s got great style.

Taking a Day Trip
I love fun patterned tops. Case in point, take this blouse from Anthropologie. It’s called the “Skipped Beats” blouse and features fun electric red and blue coils combined with subtle nautical buttons on the sleeves and back. This top had a vintage feel to me so I paired it with some high waisted flare jeans.
