I’m an adult, really!
I’ve been seeing a lot of lace shorts lately and love these colorful ones from Volcom. I love the way shorts look with blazers so I paired these with a simple black one from JCrew to balance out the boldness of the shorts. And as I was looking through my watch collection, I saw my Hello Kitty My Melody watch that I got from a McDonald’s happy meal last year! Fine, I’m a little old to be wearing a giant…

Vintage Lace
I’ve been seeing lace everywhere since last fall and here’s one of my favorite lace pieces. I initially saw this top on Piperlime because of Olivia Palermo’s “style picks”. I only know Olivia Palermo from The City (spin off of The Hills) and although she comes off incredibly snobby and sort of bitchy, you can’t deny that she’s got great style.

Taking a Day Trip
I love fun patterned tops. Case in point, take this blouse from Anthropologie. It’s called the “Skipped Beats” blouse and features fun electric red and blue coils combined with subtle nautical buttons on the sleeves and back. This top had a vintage feel to me so I paired it with some high waisted flare jeans.

Tall and Short
Girls in Asia sacrifice a lot for fashion. I went to Japan last winter and remember seeing tons of girls wearing over the knee boots with shorts or mini skirts in 40 degree weather. Sure, they had tights on, but while I sat there bundled up in my North Face down jacket, jeans, and boots, they casually walked the streets wearing nothing but skirts and heels. I love the idea of tall boots and shorts, but hate that it’s too…

Hello Polka Dots!
Somehow the Marc by Marc Jacobs line is always able to stay modern, yet vintage at the same time. This blouse has the basics of any old polka dot blouse, but with some extra details in the front. I usually don’t like big bows in the front either, but find that the polka dots on this one make it less serious.

The Laid Back Bodycon Dress
I saw this James Perse ruched dress in stores the other day and didn’t think much of it. I figured, “Eh, I’ll just try it on”. But the minute I put it on, it was like butter. James Perse is known to have super soft tanks and tees and this is no exception. It may not look like it, but it feels like you’re wearing your old college tee to work.
