I saw this James Perse ruched dress in stores the other day and didn’t think much of it. I figured, “Eh, I’ll just try it on”. But the minute I put it on, it was like butter. James Perse is known to have super soft tanks and tees and this is no exception. It may not look like it, but it feels like you’re wearing your old college tee to work.

Color in Your Work Wear
“What am I going to wear to work today?”. Being surrounded by casually dressed engineers in California sometimes has it’s downside. I find myself getting “lazy” in my style choices and not always going for the more polished and professional look. Flats usually win over heels. Sometimes I wish the dress code were more like my friends who work in the financial districts of New York, but hey, the grass is always greener, right?

Spring with Lilacs and Greys
With Spring here, I have been taking advantage of finally not having to wear pants to work. This Free People bodycon skirt has strategic lace panels on the front, back, and side and could easily be part of a boudoir collection. Since there is a lot of detail in the skirt, I kept the rest of the outfit simple with just a regular old slub T-shirt and some basic sandals.

Exception to the Wedding Rule
Ahh… wedding season. Looks like I will making good use of my closet of dresses since I have 5 weddings over the next 3 months. I know the general rule is “never wear white to a wedding”, but I thought this dress was an exception to that rule.

The $40 wedding outfit
I went to a super fun wedding over the weekend and figured it was a perfect occasion to post another wedding outfit. It was actually quite cold so I did bring a cardigan, but for the most part, the main part of this outfit was less than $40! Well, not counting accessories. :)

Wearing Dresses with Sneakers
Ever since the “Stingray incident” from my trip to San Diego Comic Con, I’ve been having issues with my foot. And last week my doc recommended that I wear sneakers at least for 1 week to see if my foot felt better. Well, I did, but at the same time I had to make my outfit revolve around wearing sneakers.
